Adult choir is open to adults of any age who are interested in worshiping God through song. Music reading skills and prior singing experience are not necessary, just a willing heart and voice. We help lead singing and present an anthem during most worship services from September-June each year. In addition to singing, we often share laughs and prayers with one another.
Regular rehearsals are Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The choir takes a break during the summer and will be back in September.
Do you play an instrument, or are you interested in singing a solo, duet, or trio? We have all sorts of opportunities if you are willing to use your musical gifts in worship services. Please contact Brian Zuro (203-966-2666 ext. 810).
We offer two music experiences for our youth (grades 7-12): a youth choir and our youth bell choir. Practice is before Sunday service throughout the academic school year. Both singers and ringers participate in our Christmas pageant, Youth Sunday service, and periodically in our worship service. Musical proficiency is not required for either group. See more information on our Youth page under the “Ministries” menu.
Methodists love to sing together, and our Sunday School children do, too. Cathy Mishkin, our Coordinator of Children’s Music, leads the Sunday School children age four through sixth grade in choir practice on Sunday mornings. The first 15 minutes of Sunday School is devoted to praising God through music. To the enjoyment of all, the children’s choir sings during the worship service approximately four times a year. For more information about any of our Children’s Programs, please contact our Coordinator of Children’s Ministries, Linda Allen.
