Meals-on-Wheels of New Canaan is a non-profit community service that brings two meals, five days-a-week, to eligible citizens of New Canaan so that they may continue living independently and maintain their own households. Volunteers from our Church loyally delivery meals on each Wednesday throughout the year.  We always welcome new delivery volunteers or substitutes.

Recent comments from our volunteers include:

“Such a rewarding experience!  Sometimes you know you may be the only people these folks see all day, and they are so appreciative.  It takes so little of your own time to make such a difference in the lives of others!”

“I have delivered Meals on Wheels (MOW) for many years.  I enjoy seeing our clients and saying hello if they are there. Once in awhile, it is someone I know who might need MOW for a short time after surgery.  It is the one volunteer job I have that does not require a follow-up meeting, report, or phone call.  I go once a month, enjoy the hour delivering meals, and when done, I feel better about the day.”

“Delivering MOWs fills my heart each time I deliver!  There’s nothing better than greeting clients and seeing them smile.  It’s not only that you’ve provided them with food but a friendly visit as well, and sometimes it’s their only visit of the day.  Best of all is the assurance we give them — that we care!”

Here are some comments from our clients:

“They’re all wonderful people with smiles on their faces. And the food is delicious!”

‘The meals are very good and the people are very nice. Please thank them for me!’
